“With over 25 years of leadership experience as a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and community leader. I have the insight and fortitude to lead as the Sheriff of Clay County.”
Clay County Sheriff Candidate, Detective Jason Hicks, pledges a multi-layered platform to the community, partner agencies, and the Sheriff’s office employees.
Communities: Provide an educational series to our communities on crime prevention and trends in an effort to establish an effective community-based crime reduction program; Lead the area in providing a safe and secure environment for our schools through practical skills training, drills, and exercises with school administration and staff; and be proactive with our available assets by providing an effective crime reduction/deterrent visibility through our patrol division.
Partnerships: Continue to build community partnerships with all area agencies by providing an environment where information is exchanged freely in the best interest of public safety; Continue to support local, state, and federal jurisdictions where we are needed.
Sheriff’s Office: Bring about transparency through open and honest communication; Establish a values-based approach to the work we do through internal collaboration with each other and other county offices; and be true to my character and demonstrate high standards in recognizing service, performance, and the commitment of the men and women of our department
